TULIPMANIA- The Creation

TULIPMANIA- The Creation

Hello There and welcome to a new KOSHKATalk!

Wow has time gone by so quickly and we’ve made it to the launch of our summer 2025 collection, TULIPMANIA. It’s been one of our most challenging collections to create and our most rewarding at the same time. We wanted to take a look back at the journey to get to today!

The Journey for TULIPMANIA started in May 2023. We were working on the finishing touches to DELIRIO (our summer 2023 collection) while working on the concept for LOS ANGELES IS BURNING (our problematic summer 2024 collection). At the same time the word TULIPMANIA came to mind.

I usually like to plan out my concepts 2-3 years in advance to have a general idea of where I want to go and what concepts I would like to explore. Believe it or not as of now, I know what spring 2027 will look like and needless to say, I’m excited! I genuinely do like tulips they’re my favorite kind of flower and I think they make any room more colorful and beautiful. So when the idea of TULIPMANIA came to mind, I knew it had to be special.

From the original concept to now, the idea of rebirth and boisterous life was always going to be something we were going to explore for the collection. We wanted it to feel different to anything we’ve done but still have the KOSHKA DNA embedded into everything. After 24 collections you’d think it’d be hard to come up with new things to do every year but surprisingly it’s been the most creatively inspiring time of my life at the moment.

I didn’t want to make another floral collection because I’ve done that before and in all honesty if I wanted to, I could pull off a Divine Rose a la Pat McGrath and just make KOSHKA flowers and cats. Both are things I genuinely like to work with a create around. Rather than making tulips the main subject of the collection, I wanted TULIPMANIA to be a concept from which I can create a world around

As with every KOSHKA collection, we like to create a multi-sensory moment with every launch and for TULIPMANIA, Music plays a huge part in what we made. Our playlist on Spotify is all of the music I was listening to when I was working on these looks, with an additional newer songs that just fit in perfectly to the playlist. Fragrance and beauty also played a huge role in the creation of this collection but more on that later ;)

I’m truly over the moon that we’ve finally launched this collection that opens up a new chapter for KOSHKA by Emis The Cat and also brings us a new world of possibilities for what we can create for the future. This is only the beginning;)
